Following the success of the inaugural program in 2019, Expressions Media is excited to once again partner with WOMADelaide to give school students the chance to learn how to be journalists and then put those skills to use at the biggest world music event in the nation.

Headliners at WOMADelaide  is open to any school-aged student with a keen interest in media, music and culture. Participants undertake an intensive, one-day training course in journalism and then attend the media conference prior to the WOMAD weekend, with a rare opportunity to interview the artists performing at the festival.

There are three stages to Headliners:

Intensive workshop on Sunday March 1st, 12pm to 5pm: A full afternoon of interactive activities, designed to hone skills in interviews, writing, editing and photo-journalism, with a particular focus on music journalism.

Media conference on Friday March 6th at Adelaide Botanic Park (WOMADelaide): Following successful completion of the intensive, advanced course, our friends at WOMADelaide have invited Expressions Media  and all participants to attend their media conference to interview international, national and local artists. This will occur during the day – times to be confirmed closer to the date.

Publishing: Participants will write stories / produce visual content based on the media conference to be published on The Upside News.

The full line-up and tickets for WOMADelaide 2020 can be found at: www.womadelaide.com.au
