Expressions Media is once again offering the popular Next Gen Journos workshop these school holidays, open to all high school students. Over the course of a full day of interactive activities, keen young Adelaide writers will learn how to become top notch journalists.
Held on Thursday October 11 at Raj House (54 Hyde Street, Adelaide), the course will see teens learning from the team at online media outlet, The Upside News, under the guidance of journalist and teacher Libby Parker. A journalist, copywriter and teacher, Libby has written for The Advertiser, BSide Magazine, The Upside News, Inside South Australia, Refraction Media and Glam Adelaide.
Participants will learn interview skills, how to construct an article, photo journalism and editing skills, with an opportunity for their work to be published in The Upside News.
Hearing from industry experts, the budding young journalists who attend will write some great stories and ask the tough questions at a press conference.
“After the success of the first workshop, I am thrilled to be offering this opportunity again, giving Adelaide youths a real taste of the publishing industry and teaching practical skills they can take home with them,” Libby says.
Places in the workshop are very limited, however, so contact us now to secure your place. Running from 9am until 4pm with full catering, students just need to bring their own device.
