This Queen’s birthday weekend, Penny Hospitality and Expressions Media have teamed up to bring a surprise activation comprising three days of wine, music and good vibes, thanks to ADL Unleashed.

Stretching from the evening of Friday 11 June through to the end of Sunday 13 June, the Hutt Street Long Weekend will centre around the corner of Carrington and Hutt Streets, with an outdoor stage hosting acoustic acts, while bands perform inside the Havelock Hotel on a stage run by Novatech.

Expressions Media Managing Director Libby Trainor Parker is looking forward to beating the winter blues with some dancing in the street.

“Our office has been based on Hutt for more than three years and we have seen the street go from strength to strength with new eateries, businesses and bars. We are excited about adding to that landscape on the long weekend with our new neighbours and besties Penny Hospitality, with some of Adelaide’s best bands, and a sneaky interstate headliner to lure people out of the house and onto the best main street in town,” she says.

With a totally free lineup that boasts a wealth of South Australian talent and a NSW headliner on the Sunday night, there’s no better time for Adelaide audiences to get out and experience live music, following the disruptions and restrictions of recent years.

Complementing the music lineup will be a host of food trucks and wine offerings, including Gang Gang Society’s juicy burgers, Mozzarella Fellas’ authentic Italian, and Forage Supply Co’s vegan delights, to name just a few.

Founder and Managing Director of Penny Hospitality Hugo Pedler whose business has recently moved into Hutt Street is thrilled to be celebrating their arrival with wine and song.

“It’s really exciting to have the opportunity to be involved in bringing the Hutt St community together, especially having recently taken over The Havelock. We’re really excited to bring more foot traffic to Hutt and revitalise such a beautiful street,” Hugo says.\

The City Wines tastings will bring the vines to the CBD and will feature 24 wineries over Friday and Saturday, boasting the likes of Selena Estate, Cape Barren, Mary’s Myth and Watkins.

Pop-punk SAM Award winners, Wing Defence will deliver the feature set on Friday night, with other performances coming from Maisie, Alana Jagt, Orelia, Mark Curtis & the Flannelettes and Sabor a Cuba.

Saturday afternoon will feature acoustic sets from Katie Aspel, Baby Mo, Trav Collins and Trent Worley, before DJs take over for the evening session.

Then on Sunday, acclaimed NSW singer-songwriter Joe Mungovan will headline the program, with other highlights to include Oscar the Wild, Nathan May, Kelly Menhennett and the Yellow Wallpaper.

Kicking off at 5pm on Friday 10th June and running through until the end of Sunday 12th June, head to Hutt for the best winter surprise party in the city.
